COMPETITION ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
The Yard Art Alberto Moretti Schema Gallery in Carmignano, that testifies to a time long history in the context of contemporary art through the archives of the same gallery and cultural activities promoted and implemented from the seventies until to today as a “place ” of contemporary artistic experiences and core engine of creative experimentation, promoted in collaboration with Sincresis Association in Empoli to organize a competition aimed to grow cultural exchanges and the processes of integration and comparison of styles, generations and nations moving towards research and creative experiences for young artists under 35 who can establish an interaction with the local inter-cultural environment between two provinces, Prato and Florence. This project in relation to public notice Contemporary Art 2013 Tuscany Region brings together two municipalities, Carmignano and Empoli, two non-profit organizations dedicated to contemporary art in landscape and nature through the path of Montalbano, the same Yard Art Alberto Moretti/ Schema Gallery in Carmignano and SINCRESIS in Empoli, with the support of Tuscany Region , and also involves institutions dedicated to training such as secondary school level present in it and the Academy of visual arts in Florence.
The intent is to enhance the creative work of artists, especially from other countries that can establish an interaction with the territory and stimulate our thoughts not only about the art of our time, but mainly on culture as a ground for exchange and sharing of values, on everyday experience and socio-cultural situation they are living in those times of globalization and overcoming any barrier, reside in a different context. It may well be that a debate on interculturalism, integration, mixing, on the socio-cultural and territorial nomadism, allowing a comparison based on dialogue, able to promote as an open forum for discussion on a range of current issues closely and to address a variety of aspects related to the understanding of diversity in respect of equality, which sinks into the historical roots of environments that stand for a different policy for life and work in relation to culture differences.
The selected artists are Iago Eireos and Justyna Gruszczyk, two young who presented a workshop the 16th of april in Academy of Visual Arts and the 20th of april in LABA Academy in Florence to try to involve the students to elaborate useful materials to prepare artists final exhibition the 24th of april 2015. Memory retrieval, the value of the experience, of identity in relation to their nomadic lifestyle of modern times. Justyna through the project intends to rebuild the Cathedral of the sacred map of Gniezno, aiming to recover a place, even if non-existent and utopian Polish migrant community to the world, Iago through the project memory of the landscape added proposes a reconstruction of imaginary experiences and possible scenarios generated by mapping open to the search for identity through the study of the territories and an installation as appropriation of space. The projects are related to the analysis of the historical fact geographical and social targeted to the territory of Montalbano and the specific place of life and work of the artist Alberto Moretti.
