The spaces of the Sincresis cultural association host an exhibition of five young artists
who have specially created five installations that are interrelated on the theme of memory
and time.
The curator Laura Vecere, art critic and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, who
followed their artistic path indicates that the works, “performed with different mediums, such as brass
in plates, oil on silk, cut-out carpets, video, drawing, with noticeably different formal outcomes, beyond
of their strongly individual declinations, they share the same basic purpose, in fact
there are five ways of considering the surface in relation to space and time.
Space and time which, however, do not allude to a mere contrast between two or more physicalities, for example
the installed work, the container of the gallery that welcomes it and a public receptor. It deals with,
instead, of a temporalized space, which can be registered not so much in the direction of processuality
internal to the accomplishment of doing, but rather referable to a quality with less definable contours: the
deep memory. The memory, which here at times flashes in its sudden emergence and sink,
it finds in the surface the place of its manifestation. A surface that is given in the variants of
resistance, compliance, osmoticity, walkability, offering the fluid element of the wave
mnemonic the opportunity to spend and link the works in a single discourse “.
An exhibition, therefore, which invites reflection, to immerse oneself in an interior time, to grasp the
possible epiphanic flashes in the vanity of real time, to capture the extremes of the works in the works
duration.
