SINCRESIS Associazione culturale per le arti contemporanee propone un laboratorio multimediale con l’artista statunitense Scott Townsend giunto dal North Carolina e presente nella nostra residenza per artisti fino al 19 dicembre prossimo.
Il tema del suo lavoro creativo è la globalizzazione e il suo workshop riguarda una riflessione sulle economie della globalizzazione tramite un sondaggio d’opinione, ponendo questioni relative a come noi migriamo e lavoriamo in un’altra cultura, per imparare un altro linguaggio ed alle modalità attraverso le quali organizziamo noi stessi, esplorando specialmente alcuni dei compiti sociali indicati dalla Comunità Europea, i problemi relativi all’austerità economica e le idee comuni riguardo alla storia ed alla cultura “regionale” e nazionale.
“La globalizzazione – dice Scott, che insegna come docente associato presso il College of Design nella Università statale del North Carolina – è sia globale che locale. Questi due aspetti sono spesso scollegati l’uno dall’altro. Tale progetto mira a costruire comunità locali attraverso la discussione sulle esperienze e le percezioni della globalizzazione, soffermandosi su taluni aspetti come il viaggio, la
comunicazione, la ricchezza, la lingua, i confini ed introduce aree tematiche relative a storie, comunità condivise, limiti e scambi attraverso animazioni interattive proiettate nello spazio espositivo con cui il pubblico può interagire come nell’ultimo suo progetto proposto a Belgrado.
Focalizzando l’attenzione sui temi specifici della globalizzazione, l’interesse consiste nel comprendere come le nuove idee e la gente entrano in contatto e come la globalizzazione può creare pressioni sulle economie e sull’identità di un’ area storico geografica.
Attraverso la proiezione di animazioni interattive e tramite connessione Internet, il pubblico può proporre questioni e risposte che diventano parte del progetto di lavoro mentre i partecipanti al workshop potranno creare mappe annotando le loro storie e idee, condividere le conoscenze e proporre un confronto collaborativo.

2009- Co-developed 410 with emphasis on interaction design- Amber Howard lead.
2008- Co-developed GD 492- Prague Studio Narrative Photo and Book Design, GD 510: authored a new version of 510 that introduced specific ideas of interaction and visualization design and user testing processes. Split course into first and second year grads. Co-developed GD 202 revised course as “people in environments.” New course examines design activities in 1-physical contexts, 2- reading contexts (looking at a hypothetical user), and 3- programmatic/interactive design.
