LODOVICO ADDO TRINCI
Works
11 March – 30 April 2009
Inauguration WEDNESDAY 11 MARCH 2009 at 21.00
The association’s exhibition spaces host a personal exhibition by the artist L. Addo Trinci who
initially it is characterized by some photographic shots taken during different trips, such as i
children who appear lying on the floor of a museum, the Tate Modern, in the act of starting a
drawing on a cold morning in late February or the image of the interior and exterior of the hut –
air / light museum rebuilt in the eighties on the model of the primitive dwellings in the park of Monte
Truth in Ascona, a historic place for the fulfillment of some events that occur since the early years of
twentieth century when a group of anarcho-communist vegetarians built a community.
The initial idea of the founders consisted in fact in the creation of a community based on the values of life that
escaped the society of the late nineteenth century, when scientific and technological progress
they changed the social, political, economic and ideological reality of the whole of Europe. The exhibition
permanent exhibition that has been set up there since 1981 The breasts of truth, conceived and created by Harald
Szeemann, has reinterpreted and synthesized the very rich and fruitful set of characters,
Themes, visions and utopias according to the guiding image of a goddess with multiple breasts.
Trinci’s path is therefore characterized by a spiritual foundation, as an interior journey that,
in the case of this exhibition, it begins outside the space with the installation of circular ceramics on the
entrance door as if to mark a diaphragm that regulates a flow called Ki from the Orientals, such as
a Breath between inside and outside which then continues, as suggested by the topographical location of the
garden in front of the exhibition space, in a bifurcation of paths, intentions, technical means, where,
as in J.L. Borges The garden of forking paths, multiple possible pasts
converge in a single future.
The exhibition presents as a term – beginning a series of hexagonal shapes, often present in the work
of the artist as topoi, drawn from the floor design of his studio which, in addition to representing
conventionally in biology the cell are the same ones that structure the honeycombs of the bees and therefore
they manifest energy, life, movement. It is the place where they are deposited, according to an ancient discipline
oriental, the FLYING STARS, simple circular ceramics of the current year. They are elements, such as earth,
wood, fire, metal, water, which, following a precise numbering, a cardinal direction, the
movement of wind and water, they move, branch and intertwine as if they were meridians of
a body, of that Star, traveling together with other stars, inhabited by us, which always intertwines the
vertical dimension, that is that of time, and the horizontal dimension, linked to knowledge and to
knowledge.
It is a place where memories and sightings of energies that operate in the invisible sphere come
collected, speculatively valued and laid bare in an attempt to make them visible.
The exhibition itinerary thus becomes a journey to conquer a posture capable of establishing places
where one ventures and designs an opening a contact to recover a dimension of Resonance.
